Quick Guide: To Understanding The Mind Body Connection

Understanding and being aware of the Mind Body Connection is important for living a holistically balanced life.

What is the mind body connection?


There is a direct influence on your body from your thoughts & this in turn affects your emotions & behaviour & your experience of life, this goes both ways & body can also influence emotions & thoughts.


If you think something (anxious thought) it will be felt in the body (quickening of the breath, clenching the jaw, dizziness, nausea), you will then experience an emotion (worry, panic, powerless), you then behave in a certain way (rush, panic, shut down, yell at others around you), what you experience in this moment will be effected (life is overwhelming, not present) & this then influences your belief systems (you are useless, life is unsafe, not, dont have control).

Each time you go through similar cycles the more those body reactions, emotions, behaviours, life experience & beliefs are printed in your being on all levels. When this is a negative type cycle you will feel more & more out of balance & disconnected from yourself & the divine. This is referred to as Holistically Unbalanced. The more you think something the more it becomes a reality. This leads to different types of dis-ease in all areas - pain in the body, illness, low emotions, challenges through different areas of life & limiting belief systems.

Is it Holistically Balanced or Unbalanced?


Holistically balanced

-mind - clear & calm, free from harmful thoughts

-body - strong & healthy

-emotions - stable without extremes

-spirit - connected to the divine


Result - our life experience will be a lot more balanced, will experience things in a more positive way - imprinting positive belief systems.


Unbalance holistically

-mind -tormented by negative thoughts

-body -unhealthy & weak

-emotions -fluctuate between extremes

-spirit - disconnected from the divine


Result - challenges in life & experience things in a negative way with things like career obstacles, poor relationships, financial problems. The belief systems this imprints in our being will be negative.


Which one are you experiencing in this moment?

The reason its important to understand this connection & the influence they each have over each other, is so you can recognise this connection & you no longer feel you are helpless or powerless & you can utilise the mind & body in ways that promote positive states of mind & living.

 

You can use our tools such as meditation, mindfulness techniques & essential oils to really promote self awareness, to recognise & flip the thoughts creating a negative cycle & to anchor in a mindset, belief system & the life experience that you want to experience. Its not an easy cycle to break on your own, this is where working with a coach is really helpful.

 

How do you restore balance?

Basically by being self aware.

Mindfulness practices & meditation help us slow the mind down & to be in the present moment so that we can be completely aware about thoughts & our feelings & how they are effecting us in that moment on a holistic level (the physical body, the mental body, the emotional body & the spiritual self). We can then choose to change something either that we are doing physically or learning how to flip a thought that is creating a negative cycle to create holistic balance.
