Frequently Asked Questions
The Wholesome Wellbeing College is an independent, privately owned training organisation that is licensed to deliver approved training courses by Mind Body Education and IMTTA (International Meditation Teachers & Therapists Association).
If your question is not answered below, feel free to drop us an email at wholesomewellbeingcollege@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Why is meditation study included in all your courses?
Meditation and mindfulness are integral to all our courses because healing cannot occur while a person is in the fight-or-flight response. Meditation helps reduce this response, allowing holistic counselling and therapies to be more effective.
How does your training compare to others?
Our courses are certified, ensuring that graduates can obtain professional insurance, a crucial step for those looking to practise professionally. This certification adds credibility and trustworthiness to your practice, making it easier to attract clients and build a successful career.
The curriculum is scientifically grounded and developed by Mind Body Education (MBE) & International Meditation Teachers & Therapists Association (IMTTA), with over 15 years of experience. This ensures that students receive education based on proven methodologies and practices, setting them up for success in their careers.
Our training is internationally recognized in 35+ countries, offering graduates the opportunity to practise globally. This recognition opens up a world of possibilities for graduates, allowing them to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
The curriculum is industry-approved, providing a comprehensive and professional knowledge base that meets the highest industry standards. This approval ensures that graduates are well-equipped to meet the needs of their clients and provide high-quality, effective services.
All students receive 1:1 support from a Qualified Holistic Practitioner, offering personalised guidance and mentorship throughout their training. This support ensures that students receive the individual attention they need to succeed and grow in their practice.
Graduates of the Certificate foundation course receive free support for one year, including access to resources, ongoing business mentoring, and guidance, helping them establish themselves in their careers. This support is invaluable for new practitioners, helping them navigate the challenges of starting a new business and building a client base.
Our college specialises in online training, offering flexibility and accessibility to students worldwide. Online training allows students to study at their own pace and convenience, making it easier for them to balance their studies with other commitments.
How will I be assessed? Are there exams?
Our assessment methods are designed for students of all academic levels, ensuring that everyone can complete the programs successfully. This inclusive approach allows students to demonstrate their understanding and skills in a way that suits their learning style.
Students do not sit exams or complete lengthy essays (exception is the Master Practitioner of Holistic Counselling program), making the assessment process more accessible and less stressful. Instead, assessments are focused on practical activities and real-world scenarios, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills in a meaningful way.
Assessments are designed to determine the student's understanding and comprehension of the topics covered, including short to medium answers to questions, basic research, journaling, and reflection. This holistic approach to assessment ensures that students are able to demonstrate their understanding and skills in a way that is relevant to their future practice.
How long do I have to complete my studies?
Courses can be completed on a full-time or part-time schedule, offering flexibility to students. This flexibility allows students to study at their own pace and convenience, making it easier to balance their studies with other commitments.
Specific timeframes for each course can be found on the relevant course pages on our website, allowing students to plan their studies accordingly. This transparency ensures that students know what is expected of them and can manage their time effectively.
Students may apply for an extension or deferral in extenuating circumstances only, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to complete their studies at their own pace. This flexibility is important for students who may face unexpected challenges or obstacles during their studies.
What technology/equipment do I need to complete the course?
Students will need access to a computer, laptop, or iPad/tablet with a secure internet connection. This technology allows students to access course materials, resources, and online support.
A moderate level of computer literacy is required, including skills such as sending emails, internet searching, and uploading documents. This ensures that students can navigate the online learning environment and access course materials effectively.
Students should be able to open and read PDFs and use Zoom if they wish to attend the online masterclasses. These tools are essential for participating in online learning and engaging with course content.
What happens after I enrol?
Upon enrolling, you'll receive an email containing links to access the online training portal on your course start date. Here, you'll meet your mentor and commence your studies. Our course materials are meticulously researched and presented in a practical, hands-on format, enabling students to engage with the information effectively.
Your training will encompass a variety of resources, including videos, meditations, exercises, activities, audios, and lectures, tailored to each level's course description. You'll submit your coursework via email for evaluation by your mentor, ensuring personalised guidance and feedback throughout your journey.
What level do I choose?
Our courses are structured to begin with the Certificate foundation course, from which you can progress to higher levels such as Certificate, Advanced Certificate, or Masters. Each level is designed to be completed in sequence, and you will receive the appropriate certificate upon graduation from each level. For example, if you opt for the Masters in Holistic Counselling, your order of study would be as follows:
Certificate in Meditation Teaching & Holistic Human Development
Advanced Certificate in Meditation Teaching and Holistic Human Development
Diploma of Holistic Empowerment Coaching
Masters in Holistic Empowerment Coaching
Masters in Holistic Counselling
Alternatively, after completing the Certificate foundation course, you can choose to pursue one or more of our 20 postgraduate courses or the Certificate in Corporate Stress Management & Holistic Training & Assessment. Feel free to contact us so we can assist you in designing a program that suits your needs.

Are your courses Government approved?
The modalities delivered through The Wholesome Wellbeing College are professional-level practitioner training courses and are industry approved. They are not government-regulated. Accreditation and approval are provided through established industry associations. The courses offered do not lead to government-regulated higher education awards. All modalities taught are industry-regulated, and the institute complies with those standards.
In many countries, holistic and complementary therapy modalities, such as Yoga, Holistic Counselling, Empowerment Coaching, Meditation, and Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapies, are not part of the Government Training Frameworks. Despite the misconception that these modalities are unregulated, they are, in fact, industry-regulated.
In industry-regulated modalities, terms like Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Masters are used to define training courses. However, these courses do not provide a nationally recognized/government-accredited qualification. Instead, they offer graduates an internationally approved and industry-recognized qualification, enabling them to practise as therapists under these modalities, join industry associations, and obtain professional indemnity and liability insurance.
Training courses provided by Mind Body Education are industry regulated and do not lead to government-regulated higher education awards.
There are two types of associations in the industry:
Modality-based Associations are usually owned by the same people who own training colleges within that industry. They focus solely on that particular modality and often only accept membership from graduates of their own training courses. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this approach, it is important that there is transparency, value, and support for members. It is also important to ensure that the course you intend to study is not ONLY accredited with a modality-based association, as this could indicate that the college has simply started an association to accredit their own course. Many modality-based associations only approve of a specific style, technique, tradition, or lineage of that therapy.
Industry-based Associations are not owned by the same people who own the training colleges. They are separate entities, not associated with the colleges, and unbiased. Their purpose is to protect the end-user and maintain the integrity of holistic and complementary therapies. They accept members from a wide variety of different therapeutic modalities and are not concerned with specific styles, techniques, traditions, or lineages. Instead, they focus on the quality, educational content, course outcomes, scope of information, where that information originated, and the integrity of the course provider. They have a rigorous process that course providers must adhere to before they provide accreditation for any training courses.
Mind Body Education courses are accredited by the International Institute of Complementary Therapists, the Holistic Health Association International, the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, and the Complementary Medicine Association. These industry associations all have an excellent global reputation and a rigorous screening process.
Graduates of Mind Body Education courses can join these associations and obtain professional practitioner insurance. Additionally, Meditation Teacher Training graduates can join the International Meditation Teachers and Therapists Association, which provides a wealth of free resources and support.
Members of these associations can be listed on practitioner directories on the associations' websites, helping to drive potential clients directly to qualified and industry-approved practitioners.
Please note that any courses listed as Postgraduate courses are intended as professional development courses only for graduates of a Mind Body Education course and are not part of any government-regulated education award.
Laws, Legislation, Responsibilities, Ethics & Using the Title "Holistic Counsellor"
The IMTTA certificate foundation course provides the minimum level of education necessary to practise holistic counselling skills for meditation teachers. For those wanting more in-depth skills, the Advanced Certificate, two Diplomas, or three Masters levels may be a better option. Upon graduation from the IMTTA certificate foundation course, there are twelve months of free practitioner support available, regardless of which college the student graduates from. Practitioners may book a 'debriefing' call with a qualified peer if necessary, and this period of practitioner support may be extended beyond the first year with a Level 2 or Level 3 subscription to IMTTA Practitioner Registration and Support Service.
In Australia, there is no law requiring a person who provides counseling services to have qualifications or experience. However, having no qualifications and no affiliation with any recognized industry body or association can make obtaining insurance very difficult, if not impossible. Therefore, to practice as an IMTTA approved Meditation Teacher, Holistic Empowerment Coach, or Holistic Counsellor, insurance is essential. It is also usually required when hiring or leasing venues, and it is certainly the safest and most professional choice.
Regarding titles, the title of 'counsellor' has been the subject of much contention in the UK, Australia, and the United States. In the USA, individual state legislatures have passed legislation defining the word 'counsellor' as a title, which can only be used by graduates from schools approved by the US government. However, in countries like Australia and the United Kingdom, there is no such thing as a 'licensed practitioner.' The IMTTA has a philosophical and ethical commitment to legislation that places restrictions on commonly used words, as it changes the definitions and meaning of the word.
In summary, it's essential for practitioners to understand the regulations and guidelines in their area of practice to ensure they are providing safe and ethical services.
